We are located in the heart of the famous Dealu Mare vineyard, from which, over the years, some of the most appreciated Romanian wines were born. Our vineyard is situated at the foot of Strehan Hill, endowed with a Mediterranean microclimate that even allows the growth of almond and fig trees.
Here, the cultivation of vines is a way of life based on a tradition handed down from generation to generation, as attested by written documents dating back to the 14th and 15th centuries, as well as archaeological finds in the area. But the emergence and development of this ancient occupation was not accidental. It is all due to the extraordinary natural conditions here in the so-called ‘Wine Country’.

WINES OF THE STREHAN ESTATE
Today, from the hand-picking of the grapes, their careful selection and rigorous control over all the steps of the winemaking process, carried out with the help of state-of-the-art equipment, everything is done with full care to preserve the unique character with which nature endows the wines of Strehan.
SAUVIGNON BLANC
A fresh and fruity wine in which the aromas of apple, lemon peel, grapefruit and tropical fruits are felt from the first smell, notes that continue in the taste and aftertaste.
Minerality, acidity and alcohol are very well integrated in the taste.
MERLOT ROSE
A versatile, easy-drinking wine with an abundance of red and blackberry fruit on the palate. Ripe berry notes and medium acidity are also found in the aftertaste.
MERLOT
A well-structured wine, with medium body and fine tannins, in which the mix of blackcurrant, raspberry and blackberry is noticeable. Vanilla notes reveal a wine balanced in flavours.
Eglantina Cuvee WHITE
A modern and complex wine with a greenish-yellow color revealing a mineral and versatile character which integrates notes of tropical fruits. The aromas of pineapple, lemon peel and pomelo offer a special complexity of the wine. The elegance and balance of this wine is felt even in the aftertaste where we find remarkable notes of white flowers, pears and green apples.
Eglantina Cuvee Rose
A versatile wine, easy to drink considering its fresh and mineral characteristics, with an abundance of red fruits predominantly in notes of strawberry and wild rose. The elegant features of the fruits complemented by the pleasant acidity can be also felt in the aftertaste.
Eglantina Cuvee Red
A well-structured and noble wine, that rested French oak barriques for 6 months to create a palette dominated by notes of mocha and dark chocolate. A full-bodied wine with fine tannins, with a mixture of woody aromas but also slightly fruity notes, revealing a balanced wine in aromas with an intense and long aftertaste.

OUR STORY
Our story began in the village of Tohani, located at the foot of the Strehan Hill, in the heart of the famous Dealu Mare wine-growing area, where, after years of searching, we found glimpses of our family’s past and of this fascinating place that today we call Strehan Estate. The strong call we felt at that time towards this place, where the vineyard and an old manor house still survived, inspired us in our endeavour to restore its former glory.
Thus, through the three main landmarks of the Strehan Estate – the Strehan Winery, the Eglantina Manor and the Citizen’s Barn – we want to offer the joy of the unique experience of discovering the charm of these places, reliving it again and again and transforming it into memories that last forever.
